Found – What else can I do?
Once you have placed your advert on All Creatures Lost and Found and checked the LOST page
Have a look around your neighbourhood and surrounding streets for lost signs
Phone your and surrounding Shires and Animal Care Facilities (pounds) phone numbers Dogs or Cats
Phone your local veterinary clinic or preferably visit the animal may have a microchip
Place posters on street corners, at your local shops (Showing FOUND, photo, name, description, where, when and contact numbers)
Advertising in the local papers and West Australian is free for found animals
Cat’s will need to be taken to the Cat Haven in Shenton Park; it’s a good idea to phone first
Dogs can be collected by the ranger. If you would like to look after the dog until the owner is found, it is usually okay but check with the ranger first. However the animal then becomes your responsibility if you chose to look after it whilst trying to locate their owner
